Upon his graduation from Moscow choreographic academy Mr. Bobrov joined the Bolshoi Ballet Theater,
In 1993 graduated from Moscow Institute of choreography under the People’s artist of the USSR Yury Grigorovich.In 2003 Sergei Bobrov headed the ballet troupe of Krasnoyarsk state opera and ballet theater, 3 years later in 2006 he became the artistic director of the whole theater.
At the Krasnoyarsk theater he staged the following ballets: “Tsar Fish”, “Konturdans”, “Oedipius’s daughter”, “The Nutcracker”, “Carmen”, “Swan Lake”, “Don Quixote”, “La Bayadere”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Giselle”, “Cinderella”, “The infant and the jester”, “Rite of Spring“, The Hussar Ballad”, “Electra”
Each of his productions becomes a notable event not only in the cultural life of the Krasnoyarsk Region, but of Russia and the world. His ballet “Romeo and Juliet” was recognized as the best performance of the season in 2007 in the UK. About ballet “Hussar Ballad” the French magazine «DANCE» wrote: “…Bobrov created a new genre «ballet le grand spectacle».

Bobrov Mr. Bobrov has inspired the unique international opera project “Parade of stars in the opera”,  became the organizer and artistic director of all the Russian Ballet Forums “Ballet of the XXI century”, dedicated to the legends of Russian ballet – Galina Ulanova (2010) and Yury Grigorovich (2012).

He closely works with Sofia National Opera in Bulgaria, and staged there number of productions, “Electra, “Antigone” among them.
He also the judge of the All-Russian competition named after G. S. Ulanova (Krasnoyarsk 2008, 2010)
